Steve and Mary Ann Hensley

In 2008 Steve retired from being a college president & I retired from being a Hospice volunteer, a nursing home volunteer & delivering meals to our church shut ins. We bought a new home in a new development about 20 miles north of San Antonio. The area where we live was once ranch land, extremely rocky & covered with oak trees & cedars & home to many deer. Since moving here, the number of homes has increased greatly. Five years ago we bought the lot right south of us so we’d have a little elbow room. Steve has cut down & burned all the cedar trees on the lot, he’s planted bluebonnets & oleander(the one plant deer won’t eat) & he & our youngest grandson have dug a lot of the rocks to use to make a boundary line along the south lot. I try to keep up with the weeds in our flower beds, but since a lot of our flowers are Texas wildflowers, I sometimes have trouble knowing what to pull. We still enjoy traveling but we don’t do as much as we used to. Time has a way of slowing us down some! 😄

The pictures are of us, our oldest son Jeff, his wife Jeri and their 5 children; Megan, Adam, Brandon, Luke and Aaron; Darren and his wife Angie and their two children, Jordyn and Adley; and Dan and his wife Traci and their 3 boys, Levi, Clay and Dane. In case you wonder what the thing is with the eggs hanging on it is, it is an old twisted bare tree which Cheryl decorates for most holidays, year round! This was, of course, for Easter, when they were all here.

The pictures are as follows - The first picture is our middle son, Walt, at the back of the picture & his son, Austin, in front. Next picture is Walt’s daughter, Hannah & her boyfriend. They all live in Colorado.

The third picture is our oldest son, Scott, his wife, Kelly & Steve & Mary Ann in the middle. Scott & Kelly live in Oklahoma.

The fourth picture is Scott & Kelly’s daughter, our granddaughter, Adrian & her husband, Beau, their little ones. Adrian is holding their two foster children & Beau is holding their daughter, Madeline. They also live in Oklahoma.

The fifth picture is Rick, our youngest son & his two children, Nick & Cori. They live in San Antonio.

The sixth picture is our youngest granddaughter, Cori, with Walt’s youngest daughter, Chloe. Chloe & her mother live in San Marcos, TX.

The last picture is Scott & Kelly’s oldest child Tyler, our grandson. Tyler is with Chelsea & their blended family. Tyler has twins, a boy & girl, which were our first great grandchildren. Tyler & Chelsea have the little redheaded girl, which is our third great grandchild.

Adrian & Beau have our fourth great grandchild. We consider the foster babies & Chelsea’s children our great grandchildren, too, for a total nine, which all live in Oklahoma. Christmas is quite exciting - I didn’t know tissue paper could fly through the air!

We have had a wonderful, happy life. God has blessed us greatly! ❤️
