ObituaryJoe Lloyd Sproul, born on December 25, 1942, in Norton, KS, peacefully passed away on May 17, 2024, at his residence in rural Norton, Kansas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Joe was a man of many passions and hobbies. He found joy in farming and could often be found driving around the countryside, assessing his crops. He had a talent for tinkering in his shop and enjoyed working with his hands. Joe had a deep appreciation for the music of Johnny Cash and loved listening to his favorite bands and musical artists. An interesting fact about Joe was his involvement with the USA Women's Softball team. He worked closely with them, and his dedication to the sport led him to become the ASA state softball commissioner for the state of Kansas. Joe was also an accomplished pilot, having obtained his own pilot's license and flying his own plane. In addition, he enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle. Joe's family meant the world to him, and he cherished the moments spent with his loved ones, especially his great-grandchildren. He found solace in their presence and created countless cherished memories. Joe's favorite TV shows included old westerns, and he followed various sports like basketball, softball, and football. Throughout his life, Joe lived by the motto of being a man of few words. His proudest accomplishment was bringing the USA women's softball team to Kansas, where he made a significant contribution to the sport he loved. Joe is survived by his loving spouse, Kandi Sproul, and their children. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in Joe's memory.
