The last 5 years have been a challenge for us. Bob has had several medical adventures. Four years ago my back decided it was time for me to get it straightened. Barrow Brain and Spine took 12 hours to untwist it, put 2 titanium rods with about 30 screws and anchored them with2 big screws to my hips. Bob slept in a chair beside me for 3 weeks between the hospital and a rehab.

He had me back on the mountain within 3 months, cast and all. We then could hike up to 6 miles. Today I put in about 20 miles a week but only 4 miles at a time. Bob had a goal to hike the 15 mile National Trail the length of South Mountain at age 80. He did it. Off he went with his nitroglycerine for his heart stents, a water pack, and phone. I followed him all day on the Life 360 app. It showed me on the computer screen.

Our boys David and Shan and their wives are all Ironmen . The swim is 2.4 miles, bike ride is 112 miles and the run is 26.22. David has been a hospital administrator at UCSF in California for over 25 years and Shan has been with Elma Electronics for over 30 years. He is now the president. Dave and Rita live in San Francisco and Shan and Nancy live in Atlanta. Shan has a division there and the headquarters is in San Jose California so he does a lot of commuting. Shan and Nancy have Grace, who just graduated from UCLA with a double degree, and James will be starting at Georgia Tech for an Aerospace Engineering degree. Dave and Rita have one little girl, Merritt who is four.

Bob and I are still fly fishing in our float tubes. We travel from Atlanta to Northern California and to Utah for the 4th of July. This year we only made it to the Arizona Mountains 4 times.
